    Anesthesia problem

    Oh No

Apparently, the paralyzer was given to fast and all my muscles siezed. When I woke up all my body ached. For 3 days, I could barely get out of bed from the soreness. My abdominal muscles were the worst.

    Missed diagnosis

    Oh No

Though the invasive cancer was removed, and the lymph nodes were clear, the pathology report indicated large amounts of DCIS. Balloon for radiation had to be removed.

    Celebration

Oncotype and pathology reports indicate that chemo and radiation will not be necessary.

    Incision

    Oh No

One of the in incisions wasn't healing. It had to be re opened, cleaned out and re-stitched.

    Infection

    Oh No

I came down with chills and fever and began draining on the left side. The day before Thanksgiving I was hospitalized and under went surgery to drain a pocket of fluid that had formed under the expander. The expander was replaced, the wound cleaned, a drain was put in place an I was put on antibiotics.

Expansion began yesterday. I will have an expansion once a week for 4-6 weeks.

    Procedure or Surgery

I felt no pain while the saline was administered or after. There was no need for the Valium that was prescribed or even iboprufen. The Botox injected into my pectoral muscle during my mastectomy has prevented pain. So grateful!
