    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Routine fecal occult test came back positive. GI doctor came out to recovery area waving my 8x10 glossies loudly announcing that THIS IS CANCER!! I was helped to dress and sent on my way..

I am now having my blood drawn every 3 months for CEA levels. I will also have another colonoscopy in April 2013.

    Other

    Side Effects

The latest set back is an incisional hernia. I have heard horror stories of mesh repair and am so reluctant to agree to that surgery. Also, my new surgeon prefers open rather than laporscopic surgery which I understand has a much higher recurrence rate.
