Diagnosed
Oh No
My husband, at age 46, was diagnosed with GBM on Sept. 23, 2010. He had started having some weakness in his left arm and leg. After a few weeks, it kept getting worse and I took him to the ER. They thought a possible stroke but the CT scan showed a different truth.
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
My husband had craniotomy and removal of all the tumor they could see on Sept 27, 2010. He was in hospital for 1 week then transferred to rehab for 21 days.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
My husband went through 6 weeks of Temodar and radiation. Lost his hair in the radiation zone so we just shaved it all off. After a year on Temodar, GBM started progressing so we have changed to Avastin and Irinoteken. Just completed 11 treatments. After first 6, MRI showed a lot of dead cancer. Will have another after 12th dose.

Decision Point
On October 11, 2011, we discovered my husband's GBM has decided to grow back. We have had to decided to fight or let it win. We know eventually it's going to win anyway, but for right now, we are back to chemo. Avastin this time. He had to have a port put in.
