    Oh No

Had mammogram was called back in for re evaluation.had re-evaluation mammogram and was biopsied the same day. Three days later was given the diagnosis of invasive Ductal cancer. Had my initial consultation with the surgeon the next day. Was given lots of support material. Fortunate for me I have a wonderful support system. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27. Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Just go my final call from the hospital, my surgery is scheduled and confirmed for Tuesday,November 27,2012. Sounds like a very busy day. Will add additional information after the procedure. The time in the hospital was 6:45 am-6:00pm. Lots of waiting. One slight glitch. Three lymph nodes remove. One had a tumor. The Dr indicated she was not expecting that. Now the scary part waiting for results and the treatment plan based on these results. Has anyone else experienced this tumor in lymph node?

    Oncology recommends Oncotype DX Testing

    Decision Point

When to meet with theOncologist, very interesting meeting, with complete explanation. My Oncologist suggested that before we do chemo, while waiting for the surgery that the Oncotype DX would be useful for treatment. Get these results on January 3.

    Scheduled 2 nd surgery

    Decision Point

Met with surgeon today. Got additional question answered. Have my second surgery scheduled for 12/28. Feel much better about the need to move on for the second surgery. The Dr. indicates it will not be as extensive as the last . No tubes down the throat and no needle lock.i am happy as my breast and area with lymph node removal are still tender.

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

I had my port surgery yesterday. It was an easy surgery . I was dropped off at 6:30 in the am and picked up about 12:00. I did have mild sedation and it was fine. Much better than the other two breast surgeries. It is a little sore and bruised, but this will past. The greatest thing is that blood draws and Chemo will be much easier. My friend joked with me and indicated I should get a tattoo above the port saying "Filler Up,"
