    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I couldn't believe I had been diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. It all happened so fast. I didn't feel very good, but never thought it was cancer. I went for a checkup and they found blood in my urine (no kidney, bladder or urinary infection) so the next step was with my ob/gyn. from there I had a sonogram and was immediately send to an oncologist. Dr. Koon is the best. He explained that I had tumor on my left and right ovaries. So we setup a surgery time.

    Hysterectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I had a full hysterectomy and debulking of the area. Dr. Koon also removed my appendix and the fatty covering over my stomach. He assured me that he had removed all cancer cells that he found.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I am now on a daily dose of Tamoxifin. My first tests in October (a month after beginning treatment) were clear. So I guess it is working. My next appointment is in December.
