Diagnosed
Oh No
Well I kinda knew as they didn't even let me get dressed after mammo to do ultrasound.
Double Mastectomy
Procedure or Surgery
I just figured that at my age (54) I really didn't need those boobs. I didn't make my living with them, and I definitely didn't have any babies to feed!!
Hormone therapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I was worried about all of the BAD side effects but they were not so bad.
Bone strengthening drugs
Drug or Chemo Therapy
At first I had infusion, which took at least 90 minutes, but now I have an injection of Xgeva, which takes on a few minutes.
External radiation
Radiation
With mets to my shoulder blade the radiation was not bad at all. Had 23 visits in the mornings and went to work in the afternoons. All the way through treatment.
Depression/Anxiety
Side Effects
Of course I think everyone has a lot of anxiety waiting on test results, But the depression is only in fleeting moments, as I have a lot of living to do.

Time to quit working and enjoy life!!!!
Decision Point
Today is December 3, 2012, and I have not worked for 5 days now. As of today it is the best decision I have made. Who knows what next week will bring. You can only do so much at home. But there are places to volunteer here.
