    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I remember when I first woke up after surgery, I felt like nothing had ever hurt so bad. then I went back to sleep and it was not "as" bad . Thought I did well after I got home. Didn't have any big problems, just keeping the drain bag in place so it did not pull on the tube.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Maybe I am one of the few people that do not have any problems or side affects with Chemo. I was never sick in any way. I was tired and my hair piece was very hot. The only thing was on the days I had my treatment, I couldn't sleep at night.

    Radiation

I had my treatment every day during my lunch, since I was still working. It took me longer to drive to the Cancer Center than it did to get the treatment. I had no problems.

    Reconsturction or Not

    Decision Point

I felt at my age I was okay with half a breast on one side. Years later I have had a change of heart. Wish I had gotten it done 10 years ago I get tired of trying to place 2 silcone pads in my bra every day and make sure that both sides look alike. Also that the pads stay in place all day.

    Cancer came back

    Oh No

One day I just happen to feel a lump on my neck. It really scared me. Called and made Dr. appt. Had mamo, should nothing, but none ever did. Went to surgeon, he felt nothing and saw nothing on mamo. Had a PET scan. Bingo, there is was. I decided to get second opinion. Went to Moffitt Cancer Center and got the same answer.. Seems Chemo is the only way to go for now. Okay lets do it. Had a life port put in on a Thursday and started Chemo on Friday.
