    Diagnosed

    Oh No

This was the most horrible feeling. My doctor said, "Julie, I am sorry I was wrong, you do have breast cancer".

    Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I was in excellent physical shape when I was diagnosed, which was/is a blessing. I ran and biked dailey. The physical strength helped be after my surgery. However, the mental and emotional experience was draining.

    Minimal Recovery: Disagree
    Minimal Side Effects: Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Disagree

Because of the stage (stage 0) and my choice of mastectomy, I did not have to endure radiation or chemo.

    Celebration

After chosing a mastectomy, versus a lumpectomy, I reduced my reoccurence to .01%. This is an excellent feeling. Additonally, the physical apprearence from a mastectomy is much more asthetically pleasing that I expected. I have a scar across my breast, but it looks like a normal breast. I have two more procedures as I am still in the construction phase and I am very pleased with the results. (Early dectection !) Also, I have realized how truely blessed I really am.
