    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

There was really not doubt about what i needed/should do. I did have a choice. I only had cancer in the left breast not the right, but i opted to go ahead and have a double mastectomy. The surgery went well. I don't think anything really prepares you for what emotions you will feel once you see yourself for the first time. The drainage tubes were a pain and not very comfortable, but got easier with time.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

The injection i had to have 24 hours after chemo was not fun. i think it made me have the aches, pains and headaches...not good...

    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

i do not like this thing, but didn't want my veins to become bad. i had a blood clot develop at the end of the cath. coming from the port. had to have it rerouted to my neck and then have to be put on coumadin and have my level tested all the time. you have to watch what food you eat...it is a real pain sometimes!!

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Chemotherapy for me, got worse with each treatment i had and took longer to rebound the more i had. i remember the first one not being real bad, but maybe a day or so. and it didn't hit me until day 2 or three.
