Diagnosed
Oh No
I thought I might have thyroid cancer, it turned out to be lung, stage 4
External radiation
Radiation
It reinflated my lung for which I am so very thankful for! i could breathe so much easier again, however I was not prepared for the pain in my throat and what they called radiation recall on my back. Ouch! It's is where I lost 15 lbs from eating so little. But it shrank the tumor and I would do it all over again if need be!
Drug or Chemo Therapy
It's easier than I thought! No kidding! It's the needles I hate! Once I'm past that, I'm good!
Low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia)
Side Effects
They are having me wait for 8 weeks then ct then this is my second round of waiting 8 weeks and ct again. Some growing, some shrinking, some staying the same. I'm not curable but I would like another 20 years. I'm determined to do so. Docs., don't think so, but they don't know what a fighter I am! Darn platelets!
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I've had a break from my chemo since November , but this past Thursday, my ct showed my cancer growing and 2 new spots. Pooh! I am thankful for every day I'm blessed with! Hopefully I can get through 6 more treatments for another break. I am positive and will never, ever give up hope! Stage4 is scary, but not impossible. I'm meaning more and more people almost every day that have gotten way more time than the docs expected. I am now on that list! Just a bit over, but I have passed my expiration date!
