My 80-yr-old grandma had what was considered successful surgery last fall (2011) for small intestine cancer. Six months later, she has had surgery to remove cancer from her nasal cavity and is diagnosed with stage III B-cell lymphoma. Her options are to begin chemo immediately to see if it's effective or die within the year. We fear the gamble is that the chemo would kill her this week, as she is 80 years old and has become frail in the last six months (lost 60 pounds). She has a fast-growing cancer.
