Diagnosed - Beverley

Oh No Associated with Breast Cancer. Posted on October 6, 2011 View this journey (8 Experiences)

I had just received a letter from the place where my mamogram was done saying everything was normal. For years, off and on, they would see something on the mamogram so I would go back every 6 months but was told it was calcium. After the mamogram in January of 2009, I received a letter on Feb 12th stating nothing had changed and to have another one in 6 months. About 2 weeks later I was getting dressed for work and noticed that my left nipple was no longer in sight. Since I received the letter indicating all was normal, I didn't think much of it and called my gyn to see if there was anything to worry about and her nurse said my breast were changing so I though ok all is good. Two weeks later I had intense pain and called to see a gyn. The gyn sent my to a surgeon who did a neddle bioposy on Friday and informed me that it was cancer the following Monday.
