Decision Point Associated with Rare Cancers. Posted on September 24, 2012 View this journey (4 Experiences)

After trying two different chemo regimines that weren't successful, my oncologist said there were no other choices left for me. He recommend I get a second opinion but I was terrified. I had all my faith and confidence in this one doctor that I felt if he couldn't treat me nobody could. My husband wasn't willing to give up though. He researched doctors with experience in my type of cancer (Gestational Trophoblastic Disease) and found one oncologist in particular in Houston at MD Anderson. He scheduled the appointment for me and within a week we were there. Dr. Karen Lu immediately knew what to do. She suggest getting aggressive by removing the tumors in my lung followed by more chemotherapy.
