Surgery - cariej11

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Papillary Carcinoma, Thyroid Cancer. Posted on October 21, 2011 View this journey (4 Experiences)

My ENT, who did my surgery as well, said the nodule did not look malignant. 1 week later, I got the call that it was grade 2 cancer and we needed to take the other lobe out, with just 1 week before the start of my senior year in nursing school. Being completely hypothyroid for over 2 months, almost 3 months, has definitely taken a toll on me, mentally and physically. I am much more tired than usual, my focus is not 100%, the iodine-free diet has NOT been pleasant and being isolated have all been major factors after this surgery/RAI. This has definitely not been an easy road.
