Surgery - Carolina18
Procedure or Surgery Associated with Papillary Carcinoma, Thyroid Cancer. Posted on August 14, 2012 View this journey (6 Experiences)
Total thyroidectomy resulted in permanent paralysis of right vocal cord. Also surgeon said "he got it all" when, in fact, the pathology report told the real story, which showed metastasis. My sleep stopped immediately after surgery. The vocal cord issue affected my professional career. My age at that time (53), the female hormones/emotional roller coaster, and my vocal cord paralysis intensified the entire process.
