Experiences with Hair is Back/Hair Regrowth

Because hair loss seems like one of the more obvious side effects of chemotherapy, WhatNexters often celebrate when their hair begins to grow back. Common questions asked by WhatNexters include "When will my hair grow back after chemo?", "Why does my hair look different as it is growing back?", "How can I care for my scalp after chemotherapy?" While every experience is different, there are some common things you may be able to expect when your hair grows back after chemotherapy treatment.

When hair grows back, it does not always grow back the same. New hair can have a different color, texture, or consistency. Every patient is different, but typically hair will start to really grow back when chemotherapy treatment is over at about 6-10 weeks. Some WhatNexters are able to laugh about the wacky ways that their hair has grown back after chemo. Many WhatNexters agree that even if their hair has grown back differently, "no more chemo" is a good reason to celebrate. Share your changes, insights, and victories post chemo below.
