Oh No Associated with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Anal Cancer. Posted on February 15, 2013 View this journey (10 Experiences)

October 2011 I was informed that the Dr. had removed 4 polyps 1 of which was cancerous and that I had a 4 cm lesion in the rectal area and that they were going to set me up with Dr.'s at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. My husband and I both had many emotions hit us at once and I cried all the way home trying to figure out how I was going to tell our kids-both in their 20s-that I had cancer. My Grandfather had died of lung and colon cancer at the age of 53 and I was only 47 and already diagnosed with colon cancer. I also found out that my other Grandfather as well as one Grandmother had had colon cancer also but theirs were both removed by surgery. So...kudos to my primary physician that read the signs and sent me for the colonoscopy that may have saved my life.
