Surgery - Diansky

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Adenocarcinoma, Small Intestine Cancer. Posted on June 16, 2014 View this journey (3 Experiences)

Open abdomen surgery in February went according to Hoyle, thank goodness. In retrospect, recovery was not so bad. It certainly could have been a lot worse. At the time, I felt bad and sad. I wanted to crawl under a rock. But, you cannot. Do as much walking as you can, do light simple exercises for your body, eat, even in little portions, to fuel your body for healing. Make peace with your incision site. That was hard, but, now, I am ok with it. The main challenge was overall weakness.

So, all in all, it was a necessary experience that went as it should.

Went as Expected: Agree
Minimal Recovery: Agree
Minimal Side Effects: Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree
