Colostomy - Giggy1965

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Anal Cancer. Posted on July 17, 2014 View this journey (1 Experience)

After seeing my Radition Oncologist on Monday, we agreed it would be in my best interest to have a temporary Colostomy until cancer treatment is completed. I am scheduled for surgery on July 23rd. One week later I will start radition tx.i'm not sure when Chemo will began due to the surgery. Feeling comfortable about the surgery. I wish it didn't have to be done but accept that it is the best decision for me.

Went as Expected: Strongly Agree
Minimal Recovery: Agree
Minimal Side Effects: Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Agree

Hi Giggy1965,I hope your colostomy went well and you are doing well also. It is a hard decision, although I have escaped it for now. Let us know how you are doing. You will be through the rest of the treatment before you know it! Best wishes, Sue57
