Celebration Associated with Invasive, Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Posted on October 11, 2018 View this journey (33 Experiences)

October 2018 marks 10 years since my last diagnosis. That one was for stage III squamous cell carcinoma of the right tonsil. I didn't think I would make it out of this one during the time from diagnosis to treatments. But, like most things that we have to face, I made it through it and it wasn't as bad as I thought it could be. I must say though, that I was "lucky" in that I didn't have to have some of the more serious procedures done, and I didn't lose body parts or functions of my mouth, throat, neck, like a lot of people do.

Congrats! I am almost 7 years out. Left tonsil. Serious dental issues just now starting to surface due to lack of sufficient saliva. Just discovered MI paste that you put on your teeth at night to help strengthen the teeth. It also helps keep my mouth from completely drying out at night. If I had it to do all over again, I would have chosen Chemo instead of radiation. Best wishes to you!
