Chemotherapy - Hilkei

Drug or Chemo Therapy Associated with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Posted on March 11, 2019 View this journey (7 Experiences)

I have to provide an update from my previous experience from when my MCL had just returned and I was put on Calquence. It is a year later and how my life has changed!

I am on permanent disability. My finances are fine and my husband and I are moving to our new house by the end of this month. Due to the disability, my student loans were paid in full (and not by me). Now, about the drug ...

Best chemo treatment ever. Two pills a day and very few side effects. Breathing and walking at the same time is a challenge, but that’s it. Full head of hair. Appetite that I wish wasn’t so good. I don’t get sick (unless I catch a bug) and then it’s the same recovery time I used to take before the chemotherapy ever began. I said 40% remission rate, but it is actually 80%. My oncologist tells me they are considering using this drug for some form of Leukemia because the results are so good. Time will tell. It was approved by the FDA in October 2017. I started taking it in February 2018, but here we are a year later and I never felt better.
