Remission - Jayne

Celebration Associated with Colorectal (Colon) Cancer. Posted on December 9, 2016 View this journey (14 Experiences)

So, I reached my 5 year NED mark on Wed, 12/7/16 in which I have officially beat Stage IV colon cancer. I am feeling both elated (for my win) but sad (for all those who lost, including my late husband) but am thankful to still be here. No more scans required, just annual blood work. Yeah...I can do that.

    Hi Jayne,
I am read your end rather than the beginning. Your end gives me hope, and even though your beginning gave me courage, I kind of dreaded reading what you were going through because I am in that beginning. It's been 5 months now since my surgery. I had no bag, and I am grateful to God for that. And I actually know that that was not my path. But you Jayne have given me a place to hope in. I would love to hear from you of things you are now going through now just as a reminder of how things will get better. I wanted to tell you also that you have inspired me to get a life outside of this diseased box I live in. Cause that will get better also. I too lost my husband in 2011, but from kidney failure, he had diabetes, and high blood pressure. I will definitely celebrate L I F E now, and when God tells me that I am over it already! I love your story, and I will remember it forever.
