Procedure or Surgery Associated with Bladder Cancer. Posted on April 30, 2014 View this journey (8 Experiences)

They think you can walk around with a foley catheter like nothing. Not true. Ended up in the hospital after I had the catheter taken out. Some sort of infection. Went in the hospital a third time for infection. So I found out I had bladder cancer and then spent three different times in the hospital, All this within a one month time frame.

Boy, I hate those catheters too. How horrible you became infected. I did too, and am still fighting with the enterococcus two months later. And you are so right it is tough to be walking around with one. I have bladder cancer, CIS, and am in a clinical trial.

The catheter was removed 10 days after surgery and 5 days later the infection was obvious.
