Bone strengthening drugs - Jouska

Drug or Chemo Therapy Associated with Invasive (Infiltrating) Ductal Carcinoma . Posted on December 24, 2015 View this journey (12 Experiences)

My oncologist discussed treating me every six months with a bisphosphonate to help prevent metastisis to the bone. Studies have shown it to be very helpful although it is not yet the standard of care here in the US. First infusion of Zometa went well, only takes about 15-20 minutes. But about 8 hours later the flu-like symptoms they mentioned hit. Ran a fever and was generally miserable for about 5 hours. But then was fine. Will remember to take the following day off with the next treatment.
