Feeding tube - karenglowacki

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Nasopharyngeal Cancer. Posted on August 12, 2011 View this journey (5 Experiences)

My FIL spoke with his dr about nutrition, since the radiation has been pretty harsh and its hard to swallow anything, and to keep whatever he can swallow down. The dr said he could try some other drugs. He said it would have a 50-50 chance of working. And the feeding tube would have a 100% chance of working. So my FIL made the choice to get the feeding tube. Not sure when this procedure will take place. I'm glad that at least he got to make the choice and that the choice wasn't made for him. I told him that when this is all done - and he has his sense of taste back, we are going to take a family field trip to Napa to celebrate with some fabulous food and vino.
