Hospice - Laurasalzy

Other Care Associated with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). Posted on September 7, 2012 View this journey (2 Experiences)

My hospice nurse, social worker and chaplain were all wonderful and are now friends for life. A month after being sent home from the hospital, my husband found me face down on the floor next to our bed bleeding from my head which I hit on my end table when I passed out. He called Hospice and they recommended I go to the hospital because the Hospice nurse couldn't get a pulse! My heart rate was 20 in the ambulance. I remember talking to the EMT's like nothing was wrong. They thought I had a blockage but the cardiologist at the hospital determined that the right side of my heart had just about stopped and I needed a pacemaker. I had the pacemaker put in and went home the next day. I am very happy to report that it has now been 17 months without a visit to the hospital!! Life is good and I thank God every day for waking up.
