Chemotherapy - MaggieB

Drug or Chemo Therapy Associated with Colorectal (Colon) Cancer. Posted on April 17, 2012 View this journey (6 Experiences)

I start 6 months of chemo in about 2 weeks. I will update this entry following my first treatment (expected to last 5-6 hours the first day and then I go home with a pump [ in a fanny pack] that feeds the drugs into me. Then I return on the third day, in the afternoon, and they remove the bag and I am good to go until the next week ). In addition to the medicines they will also inject whatever supplements I need (for example; iron, potassium, whatever I need). The Oncologist already ordered anti-nausea meds which I have already picked up from my local pharmacy and was instructed to bring them with me to my first chemo treatment. In addition, I attended a chemo class at my Oncologist's office where I learned about possible side effects, procedures, etc.
