My husband's doctor at Duke decided to remove his spleen because it was very enlarged and they wanted to biopsy it to determine exactly what type of cancer he had. He had his spleen removed in April 2010. When, they did the biopsy, they found out the he has chronic lymphocitc leukemia. He has been in the watch and wait stage since then. His blood counts go up and down and he struggles with fatigue and getting sick very easily.
