I guess this is an "oh no". Yesterday, my wife had a followup visit with our rad onc. It had been six weeks since radiation had ended and wanted to check and make sure everything had healed properly. While giving her a pelvic exam, he kept saying he was feeling a mass that shouldn't be "there". He started to order a quick CT scan to verify it was only her bladder and not a new tumor. We were discussing what it could be and he stated that the mass was where her uterus "was". We didn't pick up on it the first time he said "was" but we did the third time. He had forgotten that she still had her uterus. Big relief when he apologized for the mistake. Talk about an emotional roller coaster. From terrified to relieved real quick!!
