Diagnosed - quenky

Oh No Associated with Invasive (Infiltrating) Ductal Carcinoma . Posted on September 7, 2012 View this journey (3 Experiences)

I was only 31 years old when diagnosed and had just started a new job. I didn't have any family members on my mother's side with history of cancer. I thought "why me, why so young?". I was afraid I was going to die soon and was sad about losing my hair.

I was 36 when I was diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma. That was the scariest week of my life. When I had my mastectomy the doctor's discovered how far the cancer had actually spread. It was in my chest wall, skin, nipple area and 18 lymph nodes. I have a lot of side effects from the surgery and treatments, but I thank God everyday that I am a survivor and get to spend more time with my family. I hope things are going well for you as well.
