Chemotherapy - Roberta

Drug or Chemo Therapy Associated with Breast Cancer. Posted on August 22, 2011 View this journey (6 Experiences)

AC and Taxol regimens -- Treatment taken as a day by day process reduced impact and was less stressful. Treatment was not easy, but tolerable. AC most difficulty with days 4-7 following infusion. Did not miss any work throughout course of chemo or radiation (went in late two days following first Taxol regimen). I think the "decadron" (steroid) prescribed for AC (one in a.m. and one in p.m. for three days following infusion) alleviated symptoms. Following first (difficult symptoms) Taxol treatment my oncologist directed me to resume decadron, which resulted in a more tolerable Taxol treatment.

I did have one instance of prolonged fever at the end of AC treatment course, which required antibiotic (over Thanksgiving holiday).

The time does seem to drag, but know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
