Removal of rectal tumor - rolandfranklin

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Carcinoid Tumor, Colorectal Cancer. Posted on September 7, 2012 View this journey (11 Experiences)

The surgery I had was a resection of my lower colon. The surgeon removed the cancerous section and resected the colon. They also created a temporary Ileostomy, so that the resected section could heal well.

The recovery was extremly rough. I had nasogastric tube to pump the gastric fluid out of my stomach for weeks. Its was the wost experience ever! The ileostomy was hard to deal with mentally and physically. I did not accept my surgery at first. I could not even look at the surgery site. Very tough period in my life.
