Lobectomy - RubyFaye

I had a partial masectomy 2002 but it didn't faze me much. Lobectomy was so painful, I could not believe it. I couldn't lay flat in bed for almost 3 months. I slept on my couch...Then I got a cough that would not stop. It was constant but doctors said a cough is normal during healing. After months, with help from meds, the cough finally went away. It has been 2 1/2 years now and I will get a coughing fit sometimes, but so grateful it isn't constant anymore.

my lobectomy was done with micro surgery,,,just two small cuts to heal...the rest was done with cameras etc..the right upper lobe of my lung was gone....but some how in all this I got what the doctors are now calling nonallergenic rhineitis that means my nose runs constantly and a lot of the phlem comes as post nasal drip.....no treatments available except to try to keep from coughing by wiping out your mouth..all that and chemo too made for a miserable time that continues despite chemo ending and hair growing back.

I had the same type surgery but there was 3 cuts plus a drain tube. I notice, every morning I have to blow my nose for 1-2 hours to clear out my sinuses and then my left nostril, drips most all the time.
I just thought it was allergies and yet I wondered why I had the problem in the winter also.
