Decision Point Associated with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer, Ductal. Posted on September 5, 2012 View this journey (10 Experiences)

After chemo. and radiation therapy......I continue to see the oconologist every 3 months for 2 years......then went to every 6 months for the past 10 years......I am hoping when I see him at my next appointment....he will drop me to yearly. The radiologist I continued to see every 6 months for 5 years....then she discharged me. My Oncology surgeon also followed me closely for 5 years then discharged me because she knew I would continue with the oncologist. It was a long road to travel......but I made it.
During this time, I decided to live my life to the fullest....while I still had one. I must admit....the thought of dying was overwhelming at times....I wasn't ready......so I fought back. I traveled more, enjoyed summer time boating, going out with friends, winter snow skiing....I kept active and ultimately cleared my "bucket list"....just in case. Now, it's coming up on 11 years.....cancer free.....and I have my life back.
