Surgery - SisterFriend

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Cervical Cancer. Posted on July 14, 2018 View this journey (16 Experiences)

My sister had surgery about 10 days ago to put in a colostomy bag. She was rushed to the hospital two days ago riddled with infection. The doctors keep pushing Hospice on her. They have given up and don't want to deal with her anymore. Everything they've done for her has had adverse effects and they are just hurting her more.

Went as Expected: Neutral/NA

Hi Marvin. I just noticed your comment on this post. Thank you for your kind words. I wish we had done things differently from the start. "If I had known then what I know now..." But hindsight is 20/20. I tried to get her to go to City of Hope (don't know if you're familiar. It's a cancer research Hospital in California) and I tried to get her to get 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions, but no one would listen to me. I even got it all set up at City of Hope. It's hard not to feel resentments when we all could have done so much more for her.
Funeral is tomorrow. Lots of hurt feelings and frustrations. I don't even know if I can go. We'll see.
