Loss Associated with Breast Cancer. Posted on September 11, 2012 View this journey (2 Experiences)

While I was recovering from my sugery, my mother was diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time. She was going to the same Doctor I was going to. I talked to the nurse and she told me because of the type of cancer it was and as advanced to enjoy these holidays, they would be our last. My mother never made it to the holidays. That was the hardest Thanksgiving and Christmas I have ever had. No only did I lose my mother, I was still recovering from all my surgery. My mother was laying in bed and she told me I would have to look out for my dad. She is laying in bed knowing that she didn't have long, and she was worried about my dad and me. I asked her what I did wrong that she would do that to me. We both started laughing. My mother was my best friend and I miss her like crazy. I was in one hospital having 2nd surgery and she was in another hospital because they found blood clots in her neck. My mother was an amazing woman. She not only battled cancer 3 times, for the last 15 + years she had heart problems. Only half her heart worked. My mother never complained about her health, how bad she felt, she took it one day at a time and did what she had too. She had lost her eye sight, diabetes, heart problems and cnacer. I hope I am half the woman my mother was. I hope and pray that if I have to go throgh half as much as she went through I handle it as well as she did. My mother buried 3 of her children. My sister was still born, and my brothers died from cancer at the ages of 24 and 28.
