No more treatment - Therese

Decision Point Associated with Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Appendix. Posted on July 28, 2012 View this journey (2 Experiences)

Keith has undergone all chemo regiments available to appendix cancer patients. None have slowed or stopped the growth of his cancer. The decision made by his doctor and Keith, was to remove all treatment. Keith is no longer a surgical candicate because there would be no quality of life if they were to try to remove the recurrent tumors - there is way too much small intestine involvement. He his currently, amazingly, symptom free (no pain, no complications) despite visible tumor all over this abdomen, liver (including recent ductal dilitation). One day at a time!

Therese, My prayers are with you and Keith. It was a joy to meet you at Elmhurst and I am going to continue to fight to help those with appendix cancer in my role at the American Cancer Society! Debbie
