PET scan - wookie-N-me

Procedure or Surgery Associated with Classic Hodgkin Disease. Posted on July 23, 2013 View this journey (2 Experiences)

My hubby finished his chemo treatments in late January 2013 and was deemed "cancer-free" by his oncologist. On June 29th, he had a PET scan. We anxiously waited until Tues. July 9th to get the PET results from his oncologist. On that day, the Dr. asked if my hubby had been fighting a cold on the day of the PET. Sure enough, he had a cold/cough the week leading up to his PET SCAN. The Dr. said the scan image showed some questionable tissue in his neck and chest. So now, the Dr. feels he should have another PET scan in 3 months just to rule out any recurring tumors.
If you are scheduled to have a PET scan and you have even a slight cold, be sure to re-schedule your test for a later date-- don't go in unless you are well, so that you don't have to experience what my hubby & I are going through currently.
