i have been diagnosed with state 3b melanoma 3 months ago. I have had the surgery and found that it had matastisized into my lymph system of my leg. I am undergoing 52 weeks of chemo and at this point, I am loosing my hair. I am not suppose to loose all my hair, but will thin a lot. What do I do. Its falling out fast. Do I cut it short/shave it. wear a wig or scarf. I really don't know what to do. I just turned 49 on Thanksgiving this past week. I am not some young chicken, I also have a husband who adores me and 4 children that are truly the most amazing. I want to keep looking cute to them.

When it comes to your hair, I would say you need to do what will make you feel the best and good inside. Remember, you will always look cute to your family.

I agree, you'll be a cutie no matter what hair you have. And remember, most people don't care about your hair, they care about YOU!

      Hope your treatments go well.

I am a melanoma patient, currently taking interferon for 52 weeks. I have slowly been loosing weight. About 1-2 lbs a week. I am not a very big person, certainly not overweight. Today I went in for labs and to be weighted again. I have lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. How much weight is too much? I am eating and actually feeling good. I do work, and am starting to think work is too much at this time. I am a chef and run non stop from 6-10 hours a day. without a break. What do I do I need the money, but I dont want to hurt my health or my family.

Hello and welcome to the site! I am sorry for your situation, I have been there. I lost 50#, twice! During two of my 3 cancer trips I lost that much. Hard to keep weight on when you can't eat. Sores in my mouth.
