I just wanted to share with you all about an opportunity I recently had with whatnext.com. I was invited to participate in a project about Renal Cell Carcinoma. It was two-part. The first was a 90 minute telephone conversation about my condition. The gentleman asked great questions and was very easy to communicate with. I actually enjoyed our talk. The 90 minutes seemed to fly by! The second part was to enter my info into a 5 day diary. Wanted to know how I was feeling each day, any side effects to my med, my emotional status thru this journey of 9 years, what support I had and how did they interact with my life. They even asked to include pictures if I could. There were a few of me, my family, a video (camera supplied) of a trip to my Primary's for blood work and that of the senior shuttle picking me up, pics of my cats, the infusion room at my hospital and the wonderful nurses that work there, a pic of my "angel", Richard, the only tech who can get me through an MRI without sedation, and finally pics of the staff at my Oncologist's office. Pre-printed diary and video camera arrived via Fed Ex with a prepaid Fed Ex envelope to return everything. The compensation was wonderful - a true blessing for someone limited to a S.S. income only. If you ever have the opportunity to do something similar, don't hesitate. They would contact you by email and request you to answer questions about your illness for the participating sponsor to read. If you meet their criteria you'll be contacted very soon. I'd also like to add that I had my check in less than two weeks from my submission - exceptionally fast. I've had to wait 6-8 weeks for my checks for telephone interviews only from other researchers. Don't hesitate if you get that email. It was a fun experience. Best wishes to all of you.

sounds very similar to me as well I am on Disability since Oct, having had a job since sixth grade it is weird not working. I still have a young son who will turn 12 in a month so I am busy with all the house work while my wife works part time for benefits. Best wishes....
