I didn't have mine quite as long as you did, but after 1-1/2 years, I was ready for it to be gone. Had it removed when I got my permanent implants. I still find myself trying to protect it, and then I remember I don't have it anymore. As thankful as I was to have it, I am glad that I reached a point where I don't need it. Take care.

Believe me, I was glad to have it during chemo, but now that it's not being used, I say "What is it stil doing in me?" Hoping to find out soon when they will take it out.

Good news! I kept mine for 15 years after I was done, I never would agree to let them have it, I always thought I would need it again one day. 2 years after it was taken out I was diagnosed again for the third time. Didn't need chemo that time luckily.
