Been a good run no evidence of desease for over two years now. Get PSA checked in a few weeks. Getting nervous. Been nice to get a few years off in this journey. Heart has decided to make me stay in touch with the medical folks though. Always something. But still here right?

Hey just found out I now have two primary cancers. First the Stage IV prostate and now bladder cancer. Only 3.4% chance and I pulled the winning ticket. Anybody else this lucky? Go for surgery today on bladder cancer.

Surgery went. Last night recovery was very painful. Better this am. Get staging and grade next Tuesday. Sum it up in two words: Ouch! Phew!

husband had prostate ca spread to bladder wall and also partially block off the left ureter making the kidney swell. they wanted to put a stent in to keep the ureter open but we didn't go for it. talked to a kidney dr. for consult and are being followed by him. so far ureter isn't completely blocked so kidney isn't acting up badly, etc. other kidney working ok. no plans for any bladder ca surgery. husband was already stage IV prostate ca. still on active treatment with xtandi which will be changing as his PSA is starting to climb again. bone scan on the 14th of aug. and then a new plan from oncologist. has been feeling pretty sick the last 3 weeks almost every day. new pains today. still only on tylenol and ultram with ativan as needed. tough to see him go through this.

Back into emergency room tonight for a catheter. Ouch..but couldn't pee. Urologist did stent my left ureter because it was blocked by cancer an causing considerable left flank pain. At home now and getting mad at all this. But thank you all for support. Means a lot. Bone scan and CT scan for Prostate tomorrow. Then urologist on Tuesday. And oncologist Wednesday. Think I'll make some music in between. Take my dog Dillon to the dog park before I choke someone.

My PSA hit the three increases in a row. Made the expected 5 year after Divinci before relapse. Expects say now eight years to metastasize and five more to live after that. What do experts know? I'd be 74. Not bad my passed at 51 and my Mom was 63. See doctor Friday but must admit I'm afraid of the next chamber until I educate my self more.

Though not me, I know a man in my support group who has been on hormone therapy for nearly 20 years without any progression. There's no exact time line, everyone is different. There are a lot of treatments you have to look forward to with limited side effects. AND they are working on more that will be ready when you need them. From my vantage point, I'd say there's no reason to be frightened. There's a lot more reason to be hopeful and positive. SO...

Keep it positive and smile :)

I used to give my prostate cancer patients their monthly anti-androgen shots. Many with positive bone scans would literally see their scan clear up. They were still coming in for their shots 10 years later. There were exceptions to this experience but they were rare.

Now that I've relapsed going through bone density and bone scan to see if we can find it. Looks like I will need to begin Lupron shots once more. Will see whats up soon I suppose.

Sorry you are having to regroup and take another shot at it, hoping the best for your new treatment plans.

Good site looking forward to helping others get through this journey. It still suprises me just how much cancer is out there. So if I see someone that has the tell tale chemo look-I talk to them. Have made some good friends. So be an angel to someone-it brings some positive out of this mess.

Volunteer at your local cancer agency as well. They need the help too.
