This is wonderful news. Can a person take this as a maintenance med while in remission to avoid reoccurrence?

This is great news! My gynecological oncologist told me that this should be approved by Jan/Feb 2019; I am BRCA2 positive and just finished my sixth round of chemo. This is the best Xmas present that I could receive!

I took Lynparza for 8 months after it was approved for maintenance after a recurrence. My tumor markers started to trend up about the same time I became eligible for Medicare due to disability. Medicare plans have no out of pocket cap for drugs. I was no longer eligible for co-pay assistance. The cost of this drug is $14,000 a month. My share would've been $950 a month. I switched to Avastin and that allowed it to be covered under the medical side of the plan. My markers stabilized and I'm still NED. (I'm not BRCA positive but the clinical trials indicated it still has some efficacy for women like me.) Any discussion of these "breakthroughs" should include financial toxicity so that woman aren't blindsided by the exorbitant cost of these new drugs.

Thanks, I will get into our resources list and add to this. We have had a few people go to different events like this and post a review.

My sister is going to the fly fishing retreat in Michigan. I'll let you know what she thinks - she's a master fisherwoman so she knows her stuff.
