Chemo starts in 5 days. I need to find a wig! How do I pay for it? How long will it take for the hair to fall out and when should I get my head shaved? Will it be safe to work since I work at a school and am around sick kids all day? How will I pay the bills? Who's going to help me? How's going to help my boys when I'm too sick to take them places?

Hi Kimberly, welcome. Fortunately, there are a lot of resources that can help with wigs, financial resources, rides to and from treatment and more. the American Cancer Society is an incredible resource. I suggest you contacts them at the phone number to the right and at the bottom of this page. They have a 24 hour/7 day a week hotline. We've had many discussions about hair. Here is a link if you'd like to read through them: https://www.whatnext.com/questions?utf8=✓&question_query=hair. Here is also a link to our financial resources board on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/whatnextcancer/financial-resources/ You are not alone. We are here for you. You can also ask questions by clicking on Questions int he purple bar above. More people will see your questions that way.

You can get a free wig from the American Cancer Society. Just call and they will tell you a close location. You can make an appt. That is where I got my wig.It gets to hot to wear at work. I got Chemo Caps on line. Chemowear. However they are cheaper at " Cookies Place" at the Florida Cancer Society" Stay strong and active it helps limit the effects. I started gardening and got a puppy. I'm too busy to feel the effects other than hair loss. That is very difficult.
