Hi and a big thank you to all of the kind people who responded to my original question about whether to do chemo. Wanted to let you know that I did seek out a second and opinion, and with it and all of your input I've decided to go ahead with the chemo. As so many of you suggested, I want to give myself every possible security that I won't be revisiting cancer again five or ten years down the road. Because of the size of my tumor and my high, intermediate oncodx score, it seems like the smartest route to take, so I am having a port implanted next Thursday and then will start with the first of eight chemo treatments (4 AC and 4T) every two weeks, followed by radiation. I start chemo on the 25th. I have to admit I'm nervous about it. I have a queasy stomach in any case and am worried that the chemo may well throw me over the line, but I think I need to do this for peace of mind.

There have been a couple of folks from my area of the country, or moving to this area, that have asked about people to correspond with and I am happy to do so.

Meantime, I do have another question for you folks. I've read a couple of articles about a move that some of the big cancer centers are making to using only the TC in chemo and dropping the A. And the bottom line with this seems to be that they are finding that the results are the same. Has anyone else read or heard about this or had their doctor talk to them about it. I don't want to put anything in my body that I don't need to and if I can be just as assured of good results with two toxic chemicals as with three, I'd like to do just the two. Any sense of whether this is in fact a trend???

Thank you again. I was amazed by how many responses I received. You're great.
