I had my second round of chemo on Thursday. Two days after the first round, I was horribly sick; I felt sore everywhere! I had Fifth's Disease about ten years ago (it's a childhood illness; I was teaching kindergarten and it was "going around" the class and I managed to get it) and I had to be in bed and off work for two weeks. That's what I felt like two days after the first chemo. Naturally, I was worried about what today would bring but lo and behold, besides being tired and drifty, I am fine. I am only taking taxol and Herceptin, which should not have caused that reaction, but something really wiped me out. Perhaps it was "first timer's syndrome" as one of the nurses said. In any event, I look forward to feeling a bit better each day, until the next Thursday's chemo.

You will get used to the treatments hopefully and find that knowing what to expect helps some. For some they get easier, for others they get harder as they go. I hope your on the easier side!

Hi Everyone. I am brand new to this board but my sister has been with you for over a year. She tipped me off about What Next. Ironically, she and I have the same diagnosis, but our treatment is quite different. She went through an HMO in her home town; I am going to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA.) I have had my second round of chemo and will have 10 more, which is a much easier route than Sis went; her cancer was faster growing so she had surgery before chemo. I will have surgery after the chemo and a rest period, then another rest period and finally radiation at the end. I feel lucky to be with SCCA and that my cancer is quite responsive to chemo (I am receptive to hormones and HR2) and it was caught early. Also, I have a great husband who has been totally supportive during this time. Thanks for letting me share my story.

Hello! I'm happy that I was able to get your account set up for you. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with around the website. Your Sis is a real Card! I have enjoyed having her here with us and I see what you have had to put up with all your life! She probably was a real hoot growing up with.
Glad to have you, if you need anything just ask.
