Good morning. I have been MIA for quite awhile. So far so good. After a year of treatment for my 2nd instance of stage 4 TNBC I went into remission in April of last year. I am now on Chemo for the rest of my life. Which is way better than the alternative. Right now I am on Xeloda, which I started in Oct of 2016. Xeloda is an oral chemo, I take 5 pills a day - 2 with breakfast and 3 with dinner. One week on, one Week off. The two week on, one week off protocol caused really bad side effects which lead to me being hospitalized for a week right after Thanksgiving 2016.

I feel blessed - the last few years I have been able to participate in so many family celebrations, including my own DD weeding in Feb of last year.

I hope to be on the site more often in the coming days and weeks.

    You guys are the best.

I definitely understand those Xeloda side effects. I started out with 3 pills twice a day then after about 30 weeks down to 2 a day until Dr. had to finally remove it. Finding a drug that keeps the cancer at bay is just trial & error or so I've found. While you may have been on hiatus from us, this is where you'll get whatever you need. We're keeping each of us in our prayers on this cancer journey.

I'm still here. Last week I had my quarterly follow up scans. I'm still in remission for both stage IV TNBC and Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma. Given my medical history I feel more comfortable being scanned every 3 months rather than 6 or 12 months.

Congratulations!!! This is wonderful news. I agree with you about seeing the doctor more often. I figure the more I am checked the chances of finding anything new early are greatly improved. Take care.

I am glad to read this update! Someone posted an answer to a post that is over a year old and your name was there. I thought I hadn't seen you participate here lately and got a little worried. (Of course, with my memory, you could have posted yesterday and I might think it's been a year...)I am very glad to read that all is well!

Greetings from sunny LA - well we are actually in in Westlake for my nephew's Bar-Mitzva. We arrived Thursday afternoon and leave tomorrow. It's been fun but exhausting. I had my request meltdown and 8:15 this morning. My DH order a massage and some alone time. I am felling much better. Crowds of people and time changes are still very difficult for me. *sigh*

Seems like a very hectic but wonderful gathering. Just rest when you feel like you need it (you already know this) and don't you go partying too much. Makes the rest of us envious! OH, to be able to just travel somewhere to get out of dodge sounds great to me. Stay safe!
