I am going in to see the surgeon, another operation for me. I have a telescoping bowel, hernias, all from earlier cancer surgery. I also have suspicious nodes. I guess it could be worse....

I am a little scared of Yervoy. There are lots of side effects.
Has anyone else had any experiences?

I finished 4/4 rounds of Yervoy about three weeks ago. Side effects for me were....fatigue....nausea...and lung irritation/congestion.

I have driven close by Lassen several times, but missed the actual park. Give a report please on your return! And have a great time tent camping.

My pets can showed two new tumors. I had a brain MRI yesterday to see if there are any in my brain. Time to get out of denial land, where I like to live, and find out about treatments. I am Braf positive, I have had Yervoy, TIL, biochemotherapy, interferon. Any ideas anybody? They are talking about taking them out and doing Yervoy again.

No they are trying to find out if I have tumors in my brain now. PD1 sounds promising. I need to learn more. Thanks!!!

Yes Terri...do some research, and ask you oncologist about it. It's still in clinical trial having good success with melanoma. Talk is it could be on the market this Oct!

      Hi Terri
I did not know you can go back to the samebtreatmentnuou had before, but if the one treatment was positive than try it again for sure. I certainly hope your PET scan shows it hasn't moved to the brain??

Does anyone else feel that cancer is limiting their life? Every time I travel some nasty thing happens, like not being able to urinate on my last trip. Two trips to the emergency room later, I had to go home, sitting on a Foley catheter for 4 days on the long road across country. I was visiting my daughter. I am going again on the tenth. This time I am flying. I hope nothing goes wrong! Wish me luck!

Sorry you get ambushed when you're trying to live a fulfilling life. I'm glad you are determined to make the trip happen in spite of medical setbacks.
My worst ambush happened a couple of years ago when I was on the way to an opera with my sister, and she told me she wanted to take me to the emergency room instead because I was unsteady on my feet and very vague. I refused, and we went to the opera, which I remember enjoying, but my sister says I slept through it. Then she took me to the emergency room where they performed an MRI and incarcerated me until they could perform brain surgery a few days later. But I always make plans to do fun things, and figure that if I get ambushed again, so be it. I can't worry about it in advance.

Yes, it does seem like you have to make allowances for the cancer part of your life. But I don't let it control me, I just work around it, sort of ignore it and not let it have the power of taking over. I'm still going to do what we want, I just might have to change my approach!

My latest cats can came back "stable"- I have them on my kidneys, of all things. I am happy about my results! They never check my brain, probably scared of what they will find...

Well, I am still here 3 years after being told "you have 3 months to live", so just to say the Docs don't know everything!! I have Stage IV, and I am on no treatment. I have done just about everything and I still have growing tumors. I enjoy every day. Sometimes cancer is a chronic disease that you have until you die. Like diabetes. take care everyone!
