Well, they have decided to change our Relay to a 6 hour event starting in 2015. They wanted to do this in 2014 and I (along with a few others) put up a fight and they kept it a 12 hour event. This is obviously the direction they want to go so I guess I'll see how it goes...I guess I have higher expectations for the 25th Largest Relay in the World!!!

did you mean changing from 24 hr to 12 hour? Or are they going to just 6 hrs?

Tomorrow is the big day!!! I think I'm ready to return to the trail for some running. This past week I've been able to run 2 miles without too much of an issue. Tomorrow I will run what I refer to as "Currahee". 8.8 mile trail. We'll see how many miles I make it.

I am happy to report that the toe is finally healing. In a couple of weeks I should be back in a regular shoe. I am at the point now that I can wiggle my toes. The tip of the toe I broke is about as numb as it can be. Considering I have neuropathy from the chemo, I'm not too concerned about it.

Hello Everybody!!! A quick update on me, some of you may or may not know, I broke my second toe on my left foot a couple of weeks ago. Had to have surgery where they put a pin in to put the bone back together. I get the pin removed on Thursday. I also damaged my big toe as well as my 3rd and 4th toe. My pinky toe was spared. The metal pin is sticking out the end of my toe and I keep stubbing it on thing. These past few days have been painful.

    Hope everyone is doing we!!

TC, things are not going well. 5FU and cisplatin have stopped doing what they do. Doc has switched me to taxol and another drug whose name escapes me at the moment. Last scan a couple weeks ago showed things are getting worse, so they decided to switch to see what this does. Have another round on July 14 then have to schedule a scan to see if these drugs are doing anything. Spirit is low. Hope you continue to do well

Sorry about that dude. I just this week noticed a facebook post from a newspaper journalist that had done an article on me 3 years ago. Her dad also died from cancer. She posted that she was going for a biopsy. I asked what for, a lump in a breast. So yeah, seems like every corner you turn there is someone else with a dx.

We made it through. All Schools were closed Friday and are closed again today. My company decided to close down Friday but we are up and running today. Still quite a bit of ice outside. Would have been nice if it were snow. I lost a big tree in my backyard. Split down the middle due to the weight of the ice.

Our "iceappocolypse2013" was a no show. We had a few areas that lost power due to trees falling but nothing like was forcasted. Thank goodness! I had the generator out, ready to go, extra gas on hand, extra fire wood, but it missed us. Better safe than sorry, now what are we going to do with all this bread and milk?

Worried about my daughter. They want to do an MRI to check and see if she has spinal issues. Maybe tethered spine syndrome. I'm am so incredibly worried. At times I think I am more freaked out about this than I was when I found out about my cancer. I know everything will be ok but I still worry. I don't want my daughter to go through this....

TC it is easy to say don't stress, but as a parent we will worry about our children forever. No matter how old they are, we will worry and want to take the pain out of any situation. You are an inspiration to all of us and we will pray for you both. Just breathe, stay positive and know that whatever it is, even if it turns out to be nothing we will support you as you have supported and helped us. Big hugs.

Hey, TC, my husband and I, daughter and two grandsons just returned from two weeks down there. We stayed at Panama City Beach and drove into Destin to eat at our favorite restaurant, Capt. Dave's. We go there every summer when the kids get out of school. I was down there when I was waiting for the results of the biopsy that diagnosed my NHL in the summer of 2011. I was there in the summer of 2012 when I had completed my chemotherapy. And of course this summer I was there still celebrating my remission. The ocean is so therapeutic and seems to take away all my cares. The highlight of our trip this year was when everyone was in the water and a huge shark swam by. People were screaming "shark!" and everyone down the whole beach was jumping out of the water. It was just like a scene out of the movie "Jaws". He swam in a straight line parallel to the shore in view of everyone and seemed to be on a mission. Thank God his mission didn't involve any humans! :)

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. To those of you receiving chemo or radiation during the week I hope you had a side effect free weekend!! I took my daughter and her friend to Hawaiian Falls this weekend which is a big waterpark. On Sunday I had this great idea of aerating my yard with a pitch fork. 2.5 hours later, I have bruised the bottoms of my feet. But hey...my yard should look good in the next week or so. Enjoy your week!!

Hey this is just a thought, but next time go to the rental store and get you an aerator that will drag you all over the yard. It's still hard, and you'll have soreness but just in other places.

How is everyone on this fine Thursday Morning?? I got up at 5:00 this morning to go to the gym. I've been trying to burn between 1100 and 1300 calories each morning. So far so good. I've lost 53 pounds!!!! When I first started working out I wanted to drop 100 pounds as my first goal. It amazes me that I have only 47 more pounds to go. I might have to cheat a little this weekend though. Fathers Day Weekend!! I plan to smoke some ribs on Saturday and spend Sunday hanging with my daughter. We'll go have lunch somewhere and then I plan to see Man of Steel. Everyone have a great day!! Jimmy
