If you go to the grocery store look at the magazines by the checkout counters. My cancer story is on the back cover of Taste of Home's Canning and Preserving Issue. I wrote to the magazine and thanked them for the wonderful recipes that helped me through my difficult journey and they called to interview me.
They even used the photos we took ourselves. I'm so excited for everyone to see it. Let me know if you find it.

Well congratulations! It's good to use cancer in a good way to help others. If you have any pictures or a copy of the article online, post the link for everyone to see.

I started substitute teaching again! I was able to return to teaching after being under treatment for 15 months. Teachers On Call hired me and I can go online and choose my jobs and work whenever I want to. I can take a day of rest which I am not afraid to do. It is wonderful to be back in the elementary schools in my neighborhood. It has improved my depression and has given me a purpose. It was a big step for me and I really feel that I have turned a corner but I am still stiff and ache from the Anastrozole.
I will be taking some training so that I can be a mentor for a local group in Milwaukee called ABCD, After Breast Cancer Diagnosis.
They need mentors for Inflammatory Breast Cancer patients.
This site continues to be my go to place. I am so blessed that all of you were here for me through the darkest period of my life.
I will continue to monitor and participate.
Thank you all for your love and wisdom.

After 15 months of treatment for Inflammatory Breast Cancer including a year of chemo and herceptin, surgery, and radiation I reached a milestone- My port was removed yesterday! I am now on 3 month checkups!! I am thrilled with being at this point in my journey. Thank you all for the wonderful support as we continue to fight together. I check this site daily so thank you again. I'm eager to help anyone who wishes to correspond.

Well now that's just great! It's always a good feeling when they bump you down a notch on the frequency of checkups. It shows that they have confidence in that your better now.
You can help others by simply watching the questions board and answering anything you see that you might have answers for.

I'm going to start an art therapy session this week. It's free to cancer patients at my hospital. I'm excited try this because I think it will help relieve some stress and help me sort out some of the mood swings I have experienced through this long year of treatment. Is anyone else enjoying art therapy?
